Laptop screen errors

Laptop when booting still hears the sound boots when entering windows but does not show up, the screen is white, the screen is black, the screen is striped… These are common laptop screen errors.

1. Laptop has white screen

When starting the machine still on normal windows (hearing through the boot sound when entering windows), when connected by connecting to an external monitor via VGA port (some machines need to be plugged in and then restarted), the screen still see. But the LCD screen of the laptop is just a blank white.

– Cause: Due to loose signal cable from mainboard to LCD panel, broken LCD panel, faulty VGA chip or onboard VGA chip.

– Fix: You remove the machine, use gasoline to clean the cable jack and clean the signal cable and then re-install it and check. If not, use another good signal cable, attach it to test. If you output to an LCD screen but the machine is on, the VGA chip is normal, but the output does not come up, you need to re-steam or replace another VGA chip.

2. Laptop screen is dark or black

– Cause: Due to the error of the high-pressure lamp, there is not enough light for the screen, making the screen dark and dim, the high-pressure shadow makes the screen black. Due to damage, the high-voltage board is used to increase the voltage for bright high-voltage bulbs. Due to the power supply signal cable to the high-voltage board, the mainboard is ultimately faulty.

– Fix: First, check if the high-pressure ball is still good or not by using a good high-pressure ball (can be taken from the tank screen) and attach it to the high-pressure board then start the machine, if the ball is in good condition. light => the high-pressure bulb on the screen is dead, you change another bulb and it’s done. If the bulb is not bright, then you should find another screen to try instead. If up => screen error, not up, then follow the next step.

Check the high voltage board to see if it is still usable, by replacing the same high voltage board or replacing the universal high voltage board. Before replacing the high voltage board, it is necessary to check the voltage sources for the board such as 12 – 19V source, 3v3 source to turn off high voltage and 0 – 5v source to adjust screen brightness. If the above sources are lost, the signal cable must be replaced or the SIO chip must be replaced.

3. Laptop screen is jerky

While using the screen vibrates, jerks or jumps wildly. Then you need to check the following cases:

Reinstall the video card driver, due to driver error or because reinstalling windows is missing the driver. Check if the refresh rate of the monitor is  75 Hert by . Right click on desktop  => property => setting => advanced => monitor (for windows XP ) to view. And on windows 8, right click on desktop => personalize => display => change display setting => advanced settings => monitor.

Check if the signal cable to the LCD panel is loose, if it can’t be reattached, replace it. Finally, re-steam and replace the video chip.

4. Screen disease with horizontal and vertical stripes

When on the screen there are one or more vertical and horizontal lines or white, straight lines crossing, cutting along the screen.

– Cause: Due to broken image signal transmission circuit inside LCD panel or screen panel error, namely broken or open cable sheath.

– Fix: If the circuit breaks inside the LCD panel, or the circuit breaks right behind the IC Drive, the resumption is very complicated. The screen should be replaced.

If the cable cover is broken, it is necessary to replace a new cable sheath, must use use a press, attach the cable sheath to the display panel. In case the screen cable sheath is slightly exposed, it can be repaired or temporarily reattached, prone to error again, so replace the panel with a new one.

5. Screen is discolored

When looking on the screen, only seeing a single color is a sign of color loss. It is necessary to check or replace the display cable, the socket connecting the display cable.

6. Screen is stained or blotchy

On the screen appears a rather large gray or white stain.

– Cause: Because the shield inside the screen is discolored, the correct color is not displayed on the front matrix layer.

– Fix : Replace other shield

7. Screen has dead spots

On the screen appear  bright spots when the wallpaper is black, or  black points when the background is white. It is a sign of light and dark dead spots.

– Cause: Due to the production process, some bulbs died.

– Fix: Currently, technology does not allow fixing dead spots on the screen. Therefore, before buying the device, you should check it carefully, because usually the distributor only warrants when the screen has 5 dead points or more.
