Motherboard does not recognize USB

+ Step 1: Clean the USB slot carefully, plug it into another USB port to see if it is received.

+ Step 2: Remove the CMOS battery   on the mainboard to clear cmos or go to cmos and click   load default cmos so that the settings in cmos return to the original defaults.

+Step 3:  Usually do the above 2 steps for good results, but rarely get rid of the disease, but you also have to do the easy thing first to rule out more disease. You proceed to measure whether the USB pin has 5V input, by flipping the back of the mainboard onto the usb pin with 4 pins: VCC pins (5v power supply) data – , data + and mass (GND) pins. 2 data pins are in the middle, the remaining 2 pins on either side are vcc pins and mass pins, to determine the mass foot, you proceed to measure the continuity by adjusting the ohm meter to the X1 scale.

Put 1 stick on the usb pin and 1 stick on the mass (LAN port, screw, screw locations) if the clock needle goes to 0 , it’s the ground pin. The other pin is the VCC pin. To measure whether the USB VCC port has 5v by adjusting the meter to the 12v DC scale, the black rod plugs into the mass, the red rod plugs into the VCC port if there is 5V, the usb has voltage, if not, proceed to replace the resistor. 0 ohms (fuse) located nearby. Identify the fuse by tracing the continuity from the output VCC port.

+ Step 4: If  measured that there is 5v for USB, this step needs to recharge the bios for the mainboard. Loading bios requires a loader, or can update bios in windows or DOS if that mainboard supports it.

+ Step 5: The USB port is managed by the male chipset, the data + and – pins go through the filter capacitor and go straight to the male chip. If there is a diagram of the mainboard, detect and remove the capacitors to eliminate (but rarely encountered). Now you proceed to steam the male chip’s legs (shake the legs again). After re-steaming the male chip does not work, start replacing the male chip. You should pay attention when replacing the male chip, you should remove the battery, the capacitor near the male chip, remove the northern chip heatsink, open the cpu socket cover (avoid making the male chip open the socket foot).
