This disease only occurs in main Asus, when having this disease, the machine hangs right on the Dos screen, unable to use the keyboard to enter the CMOS. This disease also has many causes such as hanging keys, bios error, missing jump chassis, dead fet… To fix the chassis intruded error on Asus mainboard, you need to follow the following cases:
+ On the mainboard there is a jack to plug in the jumper, look carefully to see if the jump chassis is attached, if not attached, the machine will boot normally and no error message will be reported. The picture below is the main Asus P5 KPL AM I removed the jumper and circled in the red rectangle.
+ If on the mainboard has a jump chassis mounted, you proceed to remove the CMOS battery, or remove the cmos jump being in position 1-2 is normal, switch to position 2-3 is clear purpose to restore bios to home state production, then switch back to the old position of 1-2 as shown above.
+ Mounted jump chassis and clear cmos, but the machine still gives an error: Fatal Error…System Halted, then you proceed to remove the 4 filter capacitors located behind the PS2 port, this filter capacitor is removed and the machine still receives the key normally. , leaky filter capacitors, noise also cause this disease. Brothers and sisters in the picture below to remove 4 filter capacitors.
+ Follow the 3 steps above if the machine still shows an error, then you proceed to remove the 3-legged fet near the chassis jack. The second picture above me has a small 3-legged fet circled. This fet provides voltage to the chassis jacks. If the fet is detected, shorted, broken, it also causes the machine to suffer from the above phenomenon. And this is the most common case in this disease, usually when I see this error, I probe the circuit from the chassis foot to the 3-pin fet and remove it.
